There comes a time in your life when you realise your offspring and partners are more knowledgeable than you are! We discovered that the mere 3 kgs above our total luggage allowance was significant to emirates. They would just charge us $75 per kg only $225 kgs for our extra 3 kgs.

A Suitcase, mine of course was opened  and I’d weighed my cycling evening clothes and knew they were 2.8kgs so out came my dry bag and attched it to my hand luggage backpack. I just had to make sure i didnt lose it!

Flight to Dubai went well for me but hubby hates long hauls so was glad to leave the plane in Dubai.We landed at 5am and by 630am were in the Premier Inn.The large bike box was easily accomodated in the hotel shutle bus, phew.Hotel staff went out of there way to get us into a room by 730am, so friendly. Bargain room, great aircon, good bed and surprise surprise birds cheeping outside of our window!

A shower and short nap and we were ready to take shuttle bus from hotel into Dubai mall.Quite a surprise Dubai had half finished buildings and cranes everywhere not at all what i imagined.THe tallest building BurjKhalifa was fully booked to go up and very expensive best to book in advance methinks for better deals!

Chilling now ready for the rest of transporting hubbys bike and us across the world.
