Day 13 -Leaving Czechia and into Germany

We were still tired from yesterdays marathon so I set off with 1 pannier hanging off fortunately spotted by hubby before a major accident. Another bumpy morning but easy to follow signs. The cycle path now started getting quite busy with it seemed Germans popping over the border . Being a Saturday we also saw lots of Czech families out cycling, even really young children all kitted out in lycra.

We heard the screams of one child coming to grief on a particularly steep hill he must have either failed to brake or locked his brakes up and hit the fence quite fast. We’d cycled past them going uphill a bit earlier.

We planned to spend the last of our czech currency on lunch but the last restaurant before the border was closed for a wedding. Lunch ended up in Germany, what a shock after Czechia where youd get 4 smallcubes of beef in sauce and half a plate of bread dumpling and then in Germany it was half a plate of roast pork!

Tired we starting to look for somewhere to stay, 3 places we tried were full. So we just took the next pension we came across that had a room. Friendly owners who said Their other room was already full.We were now in Sachisches Schweiz very scenic. So we unpacked and cycled over to visit the pretty town of Bad Schandau. To get there it was 3 kms to the nearest bridge, worth it just for the apfel strudel over the other side! Small pension so no wifi but a good nights sleep apart from the odd train chugging past.

4 days later still struggling with wifi too slow to upload photos!!
